Mount Major 4/2/11
Mount Major
Boulder Trail/ Brook Trail
4 Miles 1150' Elevation gain
Kevin, Judy and Emma
I'm sure we've climbed this bump more times than anything else. Why? The view. If we need a view fix and don't have all day, we head to Alton and get one of the best views you can get for minimal effort. There was fresh snow to romp through as well, though most of it had melted off the trees. Emma was ecstatic as we started out. Her shoulder seems to have healed well, and she was giddy after a long winter of short hikes. We were all glad to be on the trail again! We had a beautiful day, though the wind at the summit reminded us that the spring had just begun, and in the mountains winter was still in charge.. It may be just a bump, but it works its magic on us every time!
The great thing about where we live is that we can do this in the morning, and get home in time to go to the ocean and have Tripoli's Pizza for supper while watching a spectacular sunset!
