As a child I played under a Horse Chestnut tree in our yard. Each spring the blossoms were beautiful, and each spring a male Scarlet Tanager like this one would come and sing his heart out in the top of that Horse Chestnut tree. I can remember standing in the yard with my mom and dad after supper and listening to him sing. I can count on one hand how many I have seen since those care-free days, but today this one came to remind me... May 15, 2019.
