We had a nice bit of snow in mid-November, just a few inches, which made it nice to hike in as we went up Gunstock from the ski-area, then over to Belknap before doubling back to Gunstock. We descended Mount Rowe after leaving Gunstock.

We stopped at Emma's Cairn on the way to Belknap. Memories of her last day with us as we hiked this trail flood my mind as my eyes water and blur. I can no longer see her, but I can feel her presence.

At the summit the tower is covered in glaze ice, but I go up anyway. I survived. We don't stay long in the cold and return along the trail through theSaddle and back towards Gunstock.

We stop briefly at the Pub at the summit and had a bite to eat, but alas, the Pub was closed and we had to bring our own cold sandwiches and wash it down with water instead of beer...

The views back to Gunstock and Belknap from Mount Rowe were worth the whole hike!
